Billing Update – Effective 1 February 2023
Geelong City Medical Clinic is a mixed billing practice.
Bulk billing is available for:
- Health Care Card holders
- Pensioner Concession Card holders
- Children aged 15 years and under
All other patients will be privately billed.

We ask for full payment of your account on the day of your consultation, we/you are then able to claim the Medicare rebate direct from Medicare. EFTPOS facilities are available.
Non-attendance and late cancellation
To ensure timely access to care for all patients, the clinic has a non-attendance and late cancellation policy.
If you do not attend an appointment without providing at least two hours’ notice, a fee may apply after the second occurrence.
If you cancel an appointment with less than two hours’ notice, a late cancellation fee may apply.
Further appointments cannot be booked until the outstanding fee is paid.

Appointments
Appointments should always be made at The Geelong City Medical Clinic, we will always try our best to accommodate ‘walk-in’ patients only if time permits. Emergencies/ Urgent problems will be triaged accordingly.
The needs of patients vary widely, sometimes you may require a long consultation. Our appointment system includes consultation times accommodating patients with more complex problems.
Phone calls to your doctor will be put through in urgent/ emergency situations only. If you have seen a Dr in the last 12mths Face to face you may be eligible for a Medicare debatable Telehealth Appointment. In other situations, the receptionist will take a message and get the doctor to return the call ASAP. It is the practice policy that our Front Desk Staff cannot give out results over the phone. Please make an appointment so your doctor can explain your results and order any follow up investigations/ treatments if necessary.
