Our practice provides 24 hour care for patients

Patients are able to obtain visits from a doctor during the day (in their home, aged care facility or hospital providing these are within reasonable distance from the practice) for substantial medical reasons. Examples include frail, elderly patients with mobility problems and patients with any acute illness which prevents travel to the surgery (such as severe vomiting.)

If medical attention is required outside of our surgery hours, patients can obtain a home visit by phoning our surgery. When our practice is closed, our telephone has an answering machine advising patients of this service and the nearest 24 hour emergency contact.

After hours Home visits are not bulk-billed, the fees range from $160-$240.

Higher fees may apply for unsocialable hours which are from 11pm to 6am. Negotiations can be made to open the surgery before 6.00am- for an appointment before surgery begins if geographical or financial problems exist. The map displayed in the waiting room shows the distance within which home visits are made.

The Home Visiting Doctor Service is available on 137425 to arrange a GP home visit to areas in and outside of the Geelong district after business hours.
